Converter for HDMI source to VGA display

This active adapter converts a digital HDMI output from a laptop, desktop or set-top box into an analogue VGA signal with separate 3.5 mm stereo audio. It supports output resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz and draws power from the included Mini USB cable. The unit only works in the HDMI-to-VGA direction and cannot be used in reverse.

Build integration and cable requirements

The converter needs an HDMI source, a VGA cable to the monitor and a USB port or charger for the supplied power lead. Audio is extracted to a 3.5 mm jack so external speakers or headphones can be connected directly. No HDMI, VGA or audio cables are included in the package.

Thermals, noise and power draw
