Mini DP to DisplayPort cable for 8K 60 Hz
This cable links a Mini DisplayPort source to a standard DisplayPort display. It supports 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz for gaming or creative work. The connection is bi-directional so either end can be the source. It carries video and audio but not data.
DisplayPort 1.4 bandwidth ceiling of 32.4 Gbps
The link tops out at 32.4 Gbps, which is the DisplayPort 1.4 maximum. That bandwidth enables 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz or 3840 x 2160 at 144 Hz. It is backwards compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and 1.2a. Higher refresh rates or resolutions would exceed the standard.
Copper construction with Mini DP and full-size DP
The 3.3 ft copper cable plugs directly into Mini DisplayPort and DisplayPort ports. It works only when the monitor has a true Mini DisplayPort input; Thunderbolt 1 or 2 ports will not function. Laptops used as sources must support DP Alternate Mode for video output.
