Converts a single Molex 4-pin connector into two SATA 15-pin power ports using 18AWG conductors and locking latches
This adapter cable splits a single Molex 4-pin male connector into two SATA 15-pin female connectors, letting you power a pair of SATA drives from one legacy LP4 port. It is built for DIY builders and repair technicians who need to add hard drives, SSDs or optical drives to a power supply that lacks native SATA power outputs. The 6 inch length keeps the wiring tidy inside compact cases.
Each SATA plug includes a locking latch that secures the connection against vibration or accidental pulls during drive swaps. The 18AWG copper conductors carry the 12V and 5V rails required by SATA devices, providing a stable supply for hard drives, solid-state drives, DVD or Blu-ray units. The Y-splitter layout eliminates the need for a second Molex port when expanding storage.
Installation is a straightforward plug-in: attach the Molex male end to the power supply, then connect the two SATA female ends to your drives. The only common issue is forcing the keyed SATA connectors the wrong way round, which can bend the fragile pins. Align the L-shaped key on each plug before applying pressure and verify both latches click into place for a reliable connection.

The 18 AWG copper conductors are rated for continuous use and do not have a scheduled replacement interval.
The single Molex 4-pin male connector supplies both 12 V and 5 V rails to two SATA 15-pin devices, so total current draw is the limiting factor.
The 18 AWG copper conductors handle typical SATA drive loads with minimal temperature rise during continuous operation.
