Adds a 20-pin USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-E header to a desktop via PCIe 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0 slots using an ASM3142 controller for 10 Gbit/s transfers
This Vszerda expansion card adds a single internal 20-pin USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-E header to a desktop PC. It fits any PCI-E 2x, 4x, 8x or 16x slot and is aimed at builders who want front-panel USB-C connectivity. The ASMedia ASM3142 controller handles the protocol conversion. No external ports are included on the bracket.
The card delivers up to 10 Gbit/s through the Type-E header, matching the USB 3.1 Gen2 standard. Actual throughput depends on the attached storage; mechanical drives cannot saturate the link. An SSD or equivalent high-speed device is required to reach the rated bandwidth. The header carries two USB 3.1 signal lanes.
An all-metal heatsink and solid capacitors cool the controller without a fan, so the card adds no audible noise. It draws power directly from the PCI-E slot and requires no auxiliary connector. The design targets stable operation under sustained transfers. Win8 and newer use in-box drivers; Win7 and XP need a separate install. Oculus headsets are not supported.

It provides a USB 3.1 Gen 2 front-panel Type-E connector capable of up to 10 Gbit/s transfer, though actual speed depends on the attached SSD or drive cable.
The card runs on PCIe 3.0 x2 and is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 slots, so the link caps at the PCIe 3.0 x2 throughput.
It fits any PCIe x2, x4, x8 or x16 slot; the internal 20-pin header sits on the back of the PCB to avoid graphics-card fan interference.
