Each of the nine fibres arrives with a factory-polished SC connector on a 0.9 mm G657A1 pigtail, so the unit can be fusion-spliced or mechanically joined without field polishing. The stainless-steel housing protects the internal planar waveguide, yet the rigid tube can snag in tight duct bends if the 1 m / 3.3 ft tails are not dressed with slack loops before closure.
