Vszerda Thunderbolt 4 cable 40 Gbps

This 1.6 ft Thunderbolt 4 cable supports 40 Gbps data transfer and 100 W power delivery. It handles single 8K at 60 Hz or dual 4K at 60 Hz video output using DP 1.4 protocol. The cable connects USB4 or Thunderbolt 3 and 4 equipped laptops to monitors, docks and drives.

Installation notes and common issues

Plug the USB-C connectors into host and device ports that support the required alternate modes. Video output only works when the monitor USB-C port supports DP Alternate Mode. Some laptops limit Thunderbolt bandwidth or power delivery through specific ports, so check the host specifications first.

Practical limits of Thunderbolt 4

The 40 Gbps rate is the interface maximum; actual throughput depends on host controller implementation and cable length. 100 W charging requires both the power source and the connected device to support 20 V at 5 A negotiation. 8K at 60 Hz demands a host GPU and display capable of that resolution and refresh rate.

The package contains the 1.6 ft Thunderbolt 4 cable only; monitors, docks, drives or power adapters are not included.

Which version should I choose for 8K 60 Hz on a Mac Pro 2020?
