Wired Ethernet for USB-C Devices

This USB-C to Ethernet adapter adds a gigabit RJ45 port to laptops, tablets and smartphones that lack a built-in network socket. It works with Windows 10 and 11, macOS, iPadOS, Chrome OS and Android without driver installation. Compatible hardware includes MacBook Pro and Air models, XPS laptops, iPhone 15 and 16 series, iPad, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck.

Aluminium Shell and Reinforced Connector

The aluminium housing improves heat dissipation and physical durability compared with plastic alternatives. A reinforced connector junction reduces strain on the cable during frequent insertion and removal. No software bundle or configuration utility is supplied; the adapter relies entirely on the host operating system’s native network stack.

1000Mbps Limit on Thunderbolt 4/3

The link tops out at 1000Mbps, so it cannot saturate the bandwidth available on Thunderbolt 4 or 3 ports. Buyers who need multi-gigabit or 10GbE throughput will not obtain higher speeds from this adapter. Performance also depends on the quality of the Ethernet cable and the capabilities of the connected router or switch.

Questions about this item

Does the aluminium shell need any special cleaning or thermal paste replacement over time?

The aluminium housing is a solid passive heatsink with no moving parts, no fans and no thermal paste, so it requires no scheduled maintenance.

What limits the 1000Mbps throughput during a long, sustained transfer?

The adapter is rated for 1000Mbps; the practical ceiling will be the host USB-C or Thunderbolt port and the Ethernet cable quality.

How hot does the adapter get and does it draw extra power when running all day?

The aluminium case dissipates heat passively; the adapter draws power only from the host port and stays cool during continuous use.
