Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point

The WatchGuard AP430CR is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 outdoor access point built for high-density environments. Its IP67-rated enclosure withstands harsh weather while delivering up to 2.91 Gbit/s aggregate throughput across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Six external antennas provide 23 dBm maximum transmit power for extended coverage.

Verify PoE+ and licence requirements

Confirm your switch or injector supplies PoE+ on an RJ-45 port to power the 19 W unit without a separate adapter. Ensure a 5 Gbps uplink is available for the primary Ethernet port and a gigabit link for the PoE+ port. An active WatchGuard Management Licence — Standard or USP — is mandatory to activate and manage the device through WatchGuard Cloud.

Replaces older WatchGuard APs in rugged sites

The AP430CR upgrades from AP130, AP330 or AP432 hardware when Wi-Fi 6 capacity and IP67 durability are needed outdoors. The jump is worth it for venues requiring four spatial streams, WPA3 encryption and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Antennas (WG9004) are sold separately and must be budgeted.

Questions about this item

Does the WatchGuard AP430CR include the six external antennas or must they be bought separately?

The six external antennas (WG9004) are sold separately and are not included with the access point.

Which management licence should I choose for the AP430CR, Standard or USP?

Either a Standard or USP Management Licence will activate the AP430CR in WatchGuard Cloud; select the tier that matches your feature needs.

What real-world throughput can I expect from the 5 GHz radio rated at 2402 Mbps?

The 2402 Mbps figure is the maximum PHY rate on the 5 GHz band; actual client throughput will be lower due to overhead, interference and channel width.
