This WaveShare module carries an original FT232RL chip behind a USB-C connector and provides a TTL serial interface. It works with 3.3V and 5V logic levels selected by a VCCIO jumper. Drivers are available for Windows 7 through 11, Linux, Android, WinCE and Mac OS. Three LEDs show TXD, RXD and power status.

Suits engineers adding a serial port to embedded

Developers debugging microcontrollers, flashing firmware or logging console output will find the RTS and CTS pins on the header useful. The board also breaks out extra signals on drilled holes that match standard prototype spacing. It is not intended for RS-232 voltage levels or for USB host applications.
