Industrial 32-Channel Relay Module

The WaveShare Modbus RTU module provides 32 relay channels controllable over an RS485 bus. It targets engineers and integrators building industrial automation, building-management or test systems that need reliable, isolated switching. Each channel handles 10 A at 250 VAC or 30 VDC. The rail-mount ABS case simplifies cabinet installation.

Capacity and headroom

The module accepts a 7 to 36 V supply with onboard isolation, so no separate isolated power source is required. Cascading supports up to 255 addresses on one bus, giving ample headroom for large installations. Protection includes a resettable fuse, TVS diodes, optocoupler isolation and a magnetic isolation barrier to suppress surges and transients. The flash-on/flash-off command lets a relay pulse automatically without host timing.

Upgrade path

This unit replaces banks of discrete relay boards or PLC output cards that lack integrated isolation and wide-range power input. The jump is worth it when a project needs dense, bus-addressable switching with built-in surge protection and no extra wiring for isolated supplies. It is not suited for applications requiring analogue output, high-speed PWM or direct Ethernet connectivity.
