18-port Gigabit PoE+ switch

The Wavlink WL-NW1602GP is an unmanaged switch with 18 full Gigabit ports. Sixteen ports deliver PoE+ power while two SFP uplink ports handle fiber connections. It suits installers deploying IP cameras, wireless access points or VoIP phones in offices, shops or home networks.

Default, VLAN and Extend modes

Three hardware modes change traffic behaviour without software configuration. Default mode passes all traffic normally. VLAN mode isolates each PoE port from the others to limit broadcast storms. Extend mode pushes data and power to 250 metres on supported cables, though bandwidth drops at that distance.

250 W total PoE budget

The 250 W budget powers up to 30 W per port across the 16 PoE+ interfaces. An LED lights when total draw exceeds 80 percent of capacity, signalling headroom is low. Devices needing more than 30 W or a combined draw above 250 W require a separate power source or a higher-budget switch.

Questions about this item

How often does the 250 W fan-cooled chassis need cleaning?

The metal case has ventilation slots on both sides and an internal fan; wipe the slots with a dry cloth whenever dust builds up to keep airflow clear.

What happens first when all 16 PoE+ ports run at 30 W each?

The total 250 W budget is reached before every port can deliver 30 W, so the PoE Max LED lights at 80 % load and the switch stops adding new powered devices.

How loud and hot does the unit get when the 250 W PoE budget is fully used all day?

The built-in fan spins continuously under full load and the metal chassis becomes warm to the touch; the side vents and fan are designed to dissipate that heat in a desktop or rack location.
