Purpose and User
The Weldcote Metals KLEARVIEWTC is an auto-darkening welding helmet built for welders who need reliable eye protection across shade 9 to 13. Its true-colour optics improve visibility of the weld pool and workpiece detail. The light-state shade 4 allows clear view during setup and inspection without lifting the hood.
Installation and Common Issues
The helmet arrives ready to wear; adjust the headgear straps for a secure fit before striking an arc. Four arc sensors detect the welding light and trigger the lens in 08ms. Ensure the solar cell faces the work area and the CR2450 battery is seated correctly, otherwise the lens may not darken consistently.
Practical Limits
The auto-darkening range stops at shade 13, so processes requiring darker filtration are not supported. Light-state shade 4 is fixed and cannot be lowered for grinding or inspection tasks. The lens relies on ambient arc light to recharge the solar cell; extended low-amperage work in dim conditions may reduce battery reserve.
