Connects RS485 devices to USB using FT232RQ and SP485EN chips with LED traffic indicators and six colour-coded wire ends
This Werleo cable connects RS485 devices to a USB port using built-in FT232RQ and SP485EN chips. The 1.8 m length suits bench testing and permanent installs alike. A transparent USB plug shows Tx and Rx LEDs for quick traffic checks. It draws 5 V power from the host and presents six colour-coded wire ends.
The six-wire pigtail gives direct access to GND data lines power and two terminator pins for bus-end wiring. Users who need a DB9 or terminal-block connector will need a different adapter. Buyers requiring galvanic isolation or multi-drop bias resistors should look at isolated converters instead.
The cable terminates in six flying leads: black for ground yellow for data minus red for 5 V power brown for terminator one orange for data plus and green for terminator two. This pinout decides whether the cable matches your device screw terminals without extra crimping.

This model is supplied as a 1.8 metre cable with six colour-coded wires; no alternative lengths are offered.
The FT232RQ provides the USB-to-UART bridge so the host sees a standard COM port, while the SP485EN translates those signals to differential RS-485 levels on the six-way wire end.
The FT232RQ supports baud rates well above typical RS-485 requirements, so the practical speed cap comes from cable length, termination and the SP485EN transceiver rather than the USB interface.
