It delivers sequential reads up to 7000 MBps and writes up to 4100 MBps for desktop gaming and high-performance workloads. The drive includes an integrated heatsink and customizable RGB lighting controlled via WD_BLACK Dashboard on Windows.

Desktop M.2 slot and PS5 firmware check

Confirm your motherboard has an M.2 2280 slot wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 to reach the rated speeds; older slots will fall back to PCIe 3.0. For PlayStation 5 use, the console must run system software 21.02-04.00.00 or later and the heatsink model fits the PS5 expansion bay. The drive is not intended for NAS or server environments.
