What this envelope is for

These envelopes measure 4.125" x 9.5" and use 32 lb Golden Kraft paper with an open-end design. A metal Franklin clasp and a remoistening seal give two ways to close each piece. The center-seam construction and machine finish keep the stock flat for printing or labelling. A box contains 100 envelopes, suited for catalogues, reports or bulk mailings.

Limits of the paper and closure

The 32 lb stock resists tearing but will crease if folded sharply or overstuffed beyond its flat profile. The remoistening glue activates with water only; it will not bond on dusty or coated surfaces. The metal clasp can snag on automated sorters, so hand-sorting is safer for high-volume runs. SFI certification confirms responsible fibre sourcing but does not guarantee archival permanence.

Installing and common issues

No tools are needed — simply insert contents, moisten the flap and press, or fasten the clasp. Misaligned centre seams occasionally cause the flap to stick unevenly; check the first few envelopes before a full run. Moisture can curl the Kraft paper, so store the box flat in a dry area. The clasp prongs may bend if forced through thick stacks.

Questions about this item

What does the 32# paper weight tell me about durability?

The 32# Golden Kraft stock is heavier than standard letter envelopes, so it resists tearing when you mail catalogs or bulky documents.

How does the Franklin clasp work once the envelope is sealed?

The metal clasp folds over the reinforced centre seam and locks the extended flap shut without adhesive, letting you reopen and reseal the package multiple times.

What does SFI certified mean for the Golden Kraft material?

SFI certification confirms the paper fibre comes from responsibly managed forests, giving you a documented chain of custody for sustainability reporting.
