16 ft Telescoping Aluminum Handle

The Westward 12U486 roof rake extends to 16 ft with a lightweight aluminum telescoping handle. A 23 1/2 in plastic blade clears snow from ground level without a ladder. It suits homeowners who need reach for single-storey roofs.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

No motor or heating element is present so the tool produces no heat, noise or electrical draw during use. The aluminum handle stays cool to the touch in freezing conditions. Physical effort is the only energy required.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The fixed 6 in blade height limits the volume moved per pass during heavy or wet snowfalls. Plastic construction resists corrosion but can flex under deep, compacted loads. Users clearing large roof areas will need frequent passes.

Questions about this item

How do I extend the 16 ft telescoping aluminum handle without it collapsing?

Pull each section out until the locking button clicks into the hole; the step people miss is verifying every click before adding weight.

Which part of the 23 1/2 in plastic blade will need replacement first?

The plastic blade edges wear down from gritty snow and ice; the aluminum handle sections rarely need service.

At what point does the 16 ft reach become hard to control during prolonged use?

At full 16 ft extension the lever effect amplifies arm fatigue; most users find control drops off after several minutes of continuous raking.
