Wheeler-Rex Hydraulic Pipe Cutter 2-6 in Cap 37 in 8700-9000 psi

Pipe cutter for 2–6 in cast iron

The Wheeler-Rex hydraulic pipe cutter handles cast iron, tile and concrete pipe from 2 to 6 inches in diameter. It is built for utility crews and contractors who need to cut larger mains without rotating the tool around the pipe. Forged steel jaws and a hardened steel chain deliver the cutting force. The unit ships with a pump, hose and carrying case.

Fits tight trenches with 2–3 in clearance

The cutter only requires 2 to 3 inches of clearance around the pipe, so it works in narrow excavations where a rotary cutter cannot turn. A remote hydraulic pump supplies the pressure, keeping the power unit outside the trench. This arrangement frees up working space and reduces the weight the operator must manoeuvre in the cut zone.

Sustained cuts at 8700–9000 psi

The hydraulic system operates between 8700 and 9000 psi, squeezing the chain until the pipe pops rather than grinding through it. Oil capacity of 1 qt. supports repeated cycles without frequent top-ups. The 37 in overall length gives leverage for steady force during long cutting sessions on thick-walled mains.
