Wiegmann A121204 Carbon Steel Enclosure

This Wiegmann A121204 enclosure is a NEMA 1 rated cabinet built from 16 ga carbon steel with an ANSI 61 gray powder coat. It measures 12 in high, 12 in wide and 4 in deep with a usable opening depth of 3.88 in. A solid hinged cover secures with clamps and the body includes mounting holes for wall installation. The unit carries CSA, cULus and UL Listed certifications.

Indoor Electrical Installations Needing Clamped

This enclosure suits indoor projects that require a secure, tool-free clamped cover and standard wall mounting. It is not suited for outdoor or wash-down environments needing NEMA 3R, 4 or 4X ratings. Buyers needing a deeper cabinet or a larger usable opening should look at other sizes. Installations requiring a window cover or screw-fastened door will need a different series.

16 Gauge Carbon Steel Construction

The 16 ga carbon steel body provides the structural rigidity and protection level defined by the NEMA 1 rating and UL listing. This gauge determines the enclosure's suitability for general indoor electrical housing. Thicker or thinner material would change the protection class and mounting strength. Verify that this gauge meets your project specifications before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 12 in by 12 in footprint and 3.88 in usable depth fit around the existing conduit and terminal blocks I plan to keep?

The enclosure measures 12 in high, 12 in wide and 4 in deep with a 3.88 in usable opening depth, so you can compare those dimensions directly with your current hardware layout.

How can I confirm the ANSI 61 gray powder coat and clamps are properly sealing the enclosure after mounting?

Check that the clamps close firmly against the gasket, the gray ANSI 61 finish shows no gaps, and the NEMA 1 rating is met for indoor protection against falling dirt.

Does the box include mounting hardware or just the carbon steel body with clamps?

The enclosure ships with the hinged cover, clamps and pre-drilled mounting holes; separate mounting screws or brackets are not included.
