N1C-LP Carbon-Steel Enclosure

The Wiegmann N1C-LP is a wall-mountable carbon-steel enclosure rated NEMA 1 for indoor line-protection applications. It measures 24 inches high, 20 inches wide and 6 inches deep with a 14-gauge body finished in ANSI 61 gray polyester powder coat.

Installers needing a hinged solid cover

This unit suits electricians who want a UL-listed, cULus-compliant box with a 34C537 interior panel and a usable opening depth of 5.88 inches. It is not for outdoor or wash-down environments that demand a higher NEMA rating, nor for builds requiring a transparent cover or a different latch style.

20-by-24-inch footprint

The enclosure comfortably houses standard bus-plug assemblies and terminal strips within its 14-gauge steel walls. Headroom diminishes when oversized breakers or extra wiring ducts exceed the 5.88-inch interior clearance, so installers should verify component profiles before final mounting.

Questions about this item

What mounting hardware do I need to install this 20 by 24 inch enclosure on a wall?

The unit is designed for wall mounting; you will need suitable anchors and fasteners for the wall material to secure the 14 gauge carbon steel body.

Can I reuse my existing 34C537 interior panel with this N1C-LP series enclosure?

Yes, the specifications list interior panel 34C537 as part of this enclosure, so your existing panel of that type will fit the 20 inch wide by 24 inch high interior.

How can I verify the gray ANSI 61 powder coat finish meets the cULus and UL Listed standards after installation?

Check for the cULus and UL Listed markings on the enclosure body; the gray ANSI 61 powder coated surface should be uniform with no bare spots on the 14 gauge carbon steel.
