Carbon steel enclosure measuring 10 in high, 8 in wide and 6 in deep with padlockable hasp, ANSI 61 finish and CSA/cULus/UL certifications
The Wiegmann RHC 81006 is a carbon-steel electrical enclosure rated NEMA 3R for outdoor wall mounting. It measures 10 inches high, 8 inches wide and 6 inches deep with a usable opening depth of 5.88 inches. The hinged solid cover secures with a padlockable draw-latch hasp. It suits installers protecting circuit breakers or line-protection gear in exposed locations.
The 16-gauge carbon steel body carries an ANSI 61 gray powder coat that reflects solar gain and resists corrosion. No active cooling is fitted; heat dissipates through the solid walls and cover. The NEMA 3R rating allows rain and sleet to strike the exterior without ingress, so the enclosure runs silently with zero power draw in normal service.
This unit upgrades from enclosures lacking a padlockable hasp, a NEMA 3R rating or external mounting plates. The jump is worth it when the installation demands lockable security, rain-tested protection and a CSA, cULus and UL listed assembly. It does not suit applications requiring a clear cover, deeper interior space or integrated climate control.

Use the external mounting plates to secure the 10 in tall carbon steel body to the wall; the step often missed is verifying the 5.88 in usable opening depth clears internal components before final tightening.
Inspect the gray powder coat annually for scratches that expose the 16 ga carbon steel and touch up as needed; lubricate the padlock hasp and draw latch mechanism periodically to prevent binding.
The 16 ga carbon steel walls and solid cover dissipate heat passively, so internal temperature rise becomes the limiting factor before the NEMA 3R rating or CSA cULus listing is compromised.
