Enclosure for Line Protection

The Wiegmann RSC121506 is a carbon steel enclosure rated NEMA 3R for indoor or outdoor line protection. It measures 12 in wide by 15 in high by 6 in deep with a usable opening depth of 5.88 in. The solid cover uses a screw-on design secured by a padlockable hasp handle. It carries CSA, cULus and UL Listed certifications.

Upgrade from Unrated Boxes

This unit replaces non-certified or lower-rated junction boxes when code requires a NEMA 3R rating and padlockable security. The jump is worth it for installations needing a 16 ga steel body with ANSI 61 gray powder coating that resists corrosion. It suits applications where a solid cover and listed construction are specified for safety compliance.

Wall Mount Installation

The enclosure mounts directly to a wall using the integrated mounting provisions and included screws. Installers must ensure the mounting surface supports the 16 ga steel weight and allows clearance for the hasp handle operation. A common issue is misaligned screw holes if the surface is uneven, which can prevent the cover from sealing properly against the gasket.
