Wall-mount carbon-steel enclosure, 15×18×8 in, 16 ga, ANSI 61 gray, padlockable hasp, NEMA 3R, cULus and CSA listed
The Wiegmann RSC151808 is a wall-mount electrical enclosure built from 16 gauge carbon steel with an ANSI 61 gray powder coat finish. It carries NEMA 3R, CSA, cULus and UL Listed ratings for indoor or outdoor line protection duties. The screw-on solid cover includes a padlockable hasp for secure access control. Dimensions are 18 in height by 15 in width by 8 in depth with a 7.88 in usable opening depth.
As a passive metal enclosure the unit generates no heat, produces no noise and draws no power during normal operation. The steel body and powder coating dissipate any internal component heat naturally without forced airflow. There are no fans, pumps or active cooling elements to fail or create acoustic disturbance. The enclosure simply shields installed breakers or terminal blocks from the environment.
This enclosure replaces older unrated or NEMA 1 boxes when a project demands NEMA 3R rain-tight construction and a padlockable hasp. The jump is worth it when outdoor mounting, wash-down exposure or physical security requirements exceed what a basic indoor cabinet provides. It does not suit applications needing a windowed cover, larger internal volume or a different mounting footprint.

Use the integral wall-mounting flanges and the supplied screws; the step often missed is ensuring the 15 in width and 18 in height openings align with stud centres before tightening.
Inspect the gray finish periodically for scratches or corrosion, especially at the padlock hasp and screw-on cover edges, and touch up with compatible powder-coat repair paint if the 16 ga steel is exposed.
The usable opening depth is 7.88 in, so any cable or conduit bend radius that exceeds this depth will hit the back panel first, limiting wire fill and heat dissipation.
