The Wiegmann SC series enclosure provides a NEMA 1 rated housing for indoor electrical components. Its carbon steel body carries a gray ANSI 61 powder coat and meets CSA, cULus and UL listed standards. Embossed mounting holes allow direct wall mounting.

Installers needing a basic screw-cover box

This unit suits installers who need a simple screw-on cover for indoor wiring junctions or small control devices. It is not for applications that require a gasketed seal, a hinged door or a higher NEMA rating against water, dust or oil.

16-gauge carbon steel construction

The enclosure is built from 16-gauge carbon steel with a solid cover secured by plated steel screws. Self-tapping screws are included for the cover, and the usable opening depth measures 5.88 in.

Questions about this item

Will the ANSI 61 powder-coated finish need touch-up or recoating over time?

The gray ANSI 61 powder coating resists corrosion; inspect periodically and touch up any scratches with matching paint to maintain protection.

What limits how many devices can be mounted inside the 5.88 in usable depth?

Usable depth is 5.88 in; total component depth plus wiring bend radius must stay within that space.

How hot does the carbon steel enclosure get when breakers run continuously?

Carbon steel dissipates heat naturally; temperature rise depends on total breaker wattage and ambient conditions.
