Wall-mountable galvanised steel enclosure with captive screws, 12×12×8 in, NEMA 1, UL and CSA listed
The Wiegmann SC121208GNK is a NEMA 1 rated enclosure built from 16-gauge galvanized steel. It measures 12 inches high, 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep with a solid screw-on cover. Designed for indoor wall mounting, it suits electricians and panel builders who need a basic protective housing for circuit breakers or terminal blocks.
This enclosure replaces exposed junction boxes or makeshift covers when code requires a listed cabinet. The jump is worth it when an inspector demands CSA and cULus certification or when dust and accidental contact become a concern. Embossed mounting holes and included self-tapping screws speed installation on standard stud spacing.
The usable opening depth of 7.88 inches accommodates typical DIN-rail components and small breaker arrays. It runs out when deeper devices such as large contactors or multi-row terminal strips exceed that clearance. For those builds, a deeper cabinet or a NEMA 12 rated unit would be required.

The embossed mounting holes are formed in the 16 ga galvanized steel body; use screws or bolts sized for the hole diameter and a flat washer to distribute load on the thin flange.
Start each plated self-tapping screw by hand until it engages the cover threads, then drive slowly with a hand driver; the captive design keeps screws from falling out during alignment.
Inspect the galvanized surface annually for white rust, touch up any scratches with cold-galvanizing compound, and verify the captive plated screws turn freely; replace any that bind or show corrosion.
