550 MHz bandwidth and length limit

The Cat6 standard supports up to 550 MHz bandwidth and handles Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gigabit Ethernet signals. Ten-gigabit operation is reliable only up to 55 metres; beyond that distance the standard drops to gigabit speeds. At fifteen feet each cord stays well within the full-speed range for all supported rates.

Pure copper headroom and constraints

Eight solid copper conductors give low attenuation and strong crosstalk rejection for sustained gigabit throughput. The riser jacket suits vertical runs between floors but is not plenum-rated for air-handling spaces.
