Replacement microphone for Recon headsets

This WMtec 033-W055 accessory replaces the original microphone on Turtle Beach Recon headsets. It uses a 2.5 mm curved plug with nickel-plated contacts and a 150 mm boom. The omnidirectional capsule measures 9.7 by 4.5 mm and sits inside a 4.0 mm hose with a windproof sponge cover.

Gamers needing a direct spare; not for other brands

The part suits owners of a compatible Recon headset whose original mic is lost or damaged. It connects instantly without drivers and draws less than 500 µA. Buyers using headsets from other manufacturers or models with a different jack size should look elsewhere.

2.5 mm curved plug and omnidirectional capsule

The 2.5 mm curved plug determines whether this accessory fits your headset. The microphone covers 20 Hz to 16 kHz with a sensitivity of -32 dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 58 dB. Impedance is rated at 2.2 K and the three-section stereo jack carries the single audio channel.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 2.5mm curved plug version or a different jack size?

Select this 2.5mm curved plug model only if your Turtle Beach Recon headset uses that exact jack; other Recon variants use different connectors and will not fit.

What does the -32dB sensitivity mean when I am actually gaming?

At roughly -32dB the capsule picks up normal speaking volume clearly without needing high gain, so teammates hear you at a natural level while background noise stays low.

Does the 2.5mm three-section stereo plug limit audio quality or features?

The three-section plug carries microphone signal and ground only; it does not transmit stereo headphone audio, so it works with the headset's existing speaker wiring and adds no digital processing or latency.
