Compatible Headphone Models

These ear pads are designed as direct replacements for Audio-Technica ATH-M50X, M40X, M50S, SX1, PRO5 and M50SF headphones. They restore comfort and isolation when the original cushions have worn out or torn. The sponge material conforms to different ear shapes for a consistent seal.

When to Replace Original Pads

Upgrade from flattened or cracked factory pads that no longer block outside sound or cause pressure points. The jump is worth it when bass response has dulled or the headband cover has deteriorated, affecting long listening sessions. New pads bring back the intended acoustic seal without changing the headphone signature.

Tool-Free Installation

Installation requires no tools; the pads stretch over the existing mounting rings and seat in seconds. The main risk is misaligning the lip during fitting, which can create gaps that leak sound. Take care to work the edge evenly around the circumference. Note that only the ear pads are included in the package.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the WMtec ear pads?

The pads measure 100 x 80 x 20 mm, which is 3.94 x 3.15 x 0.79 in.

How are the pads attached to the headphones?

They press straight onto the ear cups without tools; the common mistake is forcing one side before the opposite edge is seated, which can tear the sponge.

When should the sponge pads be replaced?

Replace them when the material loses its spring, the surface cracks or noise isolation drops noticeably.
