It supports up to 256 GB of RAM and provides ten SATA 3.0 ports for dense storage arrays. An M.2 NVMe slot and USB 3.0 headers are also present for fast boot drives and peripherals.

Check power and chassis fit before ordering

Verify that your power supply delivers enough 8-pin EPS connectors for dual CPU operation and that the case can accommodate an extended ATX server board. Builders who need more than ten SATA ports or who require additional PCIe slots for multiple GPUs should look at alternative platforms. Ensure your cooling solution clears the dual socket layout and memory population rules.

Questions about this item

Does the combo include the 64 GB DDR4 RECC memory and both Xeon E5-2683 V4 processors, or must they be purchased separately?

The combo ships with two Xeon E5-2683 V4 CPUs and 64 GB of DDR4 RECC memory already installed on the X99 board.

Should I choose the 64 GB kit or add more modules to reach the 256 GB maximum?

Start with the included 64 GB if your workloads fit; add identical DDR4 RECC modules later to scale toward the 256 GB ceiling.
