Brush for low-viscosity interior coatings

The Wooster 4170 angle sash brush uses soft nylon filaments to apply water-based paints, primers and stains on smooth or medium interior surfaces such as drywall, wood, metal and concrete. Its 1-1/2 inch width suits trim, cutting-in and detail work.

Check handle style and bristle stiffness before

The wood sash handle is designed for a comfortable grip during extended interior sessions. Confirm that soft synthetic bristles match the finish you want; stiffer brushes or natural filaments are not supplied with this model.

Synthetic nylon resists water-based cleanup

Soft nylon filaments release low-viscosity coatings easily under running water, reducing solvent use and odour. The wood handle tolerates normal damp cleaning; avoid prolonged soaking to preserve the ferrule bond and bristle shape.

Questions about this item

What comes with the Wooster 4170 angle sash brush and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the 1-1/2 inch nylon brush with its wood sash handle; paint, primer or stain must be purchased separately.

Which size of the Wooster 4170 should I choose for trim work?

The 1-1/2 inch width is the only size listed for this model, making it the default choice for narrow trim and cut-in work.

What does the soft nylon bristle rating mean when I am brushing water-based paint on smooth drywall?

Soft nylon holds low-viscosity water-based coatings well and releases them evenly on smooth surfaces without leaving heavy brush marks.
