Professional flat sash brush

The Wooster F5119 is a 5-1/2 inch flat sash paint brush built for trim, sash and detail work on interior and exterior surfaces. Its firm mixed bristles carry a full load of oil-based or water-based coatings without excessive dripping. Painters and DIY users who need clean cut-in lines on doors, windows and mouldings will find the width and stiffness well suited to the task.

Mixed China-hair filament

The brush uses a White and Sable blend of China hair filaments that hold sealers, stains and both oil and water-based paints equally well. The firm bristle stiffness resists flattening on rough brick or concrete while still laying down a smooth film on drywall, metal or wood. Buyers who need a pure synthetic filament for very hot solvents or a softer tip for ultra-fine finishes should look elsewhere.

Threaded wooden handle for extension poles

The hardwood handle carries standard threads so the brush fits most extension poles, letting you reach ceilings and high trim without a ladder. The ferrule is crimped to the handle to reduce wobble during long strokes. Users who prefer a rattail handle for tight corners or a shorter brush for intricate detail work will need a different style.

Questions about this item

How does the 5119 brush's 5 1/2 inch width perform on real trim work?

The 5 1/2 inch flat sash head covers wide trim and sash in fewer strokes while the firm China hair blend holds enough oil or water based coating for long pulls without reloading.

What does the threaded wood handle accept in practice?

The threaded handle fits standard extension poles so you can reach high trim or ceilings without a ladder and still keep full control of the brush angle.

What clearance does the 1 1/2 inch thick bristle pack need to fit into tight corners?

The 1 1/2 inch thick bristle pack requires at least that much depth behind moulding or between rails so the flagged tips can lay off sealers and stains without bending back on the ferrule.
