Digital-to-analog audio converter for legacy devices

This compact unit converts optical Toslink or coaxial digital PCM signals into simultaneous analog stereo output through RCA and 3.5 mm jacks. It serves owners of older TVs, consoles or media players that lack native analog outputs and need a simple bridge to powered speakers or headphones. The converter handles uncompressed two-channel LPCM only and cannot process multichannel formats.

Full metal housing with plug-and-play connectivity

The aluminium chassis weighs 90 g and measures 75 x 55 x 22 mm, making it easy to tuck behind equipment. Power comes from a 5.5 mm USB cable requiring a 5 V 1 A adapter not included in the box. Both digital inputs and both analog outputs are active at once, so no switching or configuration is needed after connection.

Limited to 24-bit PCM at up to 96 kHz

Sampling rates of 32, 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz are supported, but 5.1-channel audio is incompatible and the source must be set to PCM or LPCM. Buyers who need multichannel decoding, DSD support or higher sample rates will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

What digital audio interfaces does the converter accept, and what output formats are supported?

It accepts Toslink optical and RCA coaxial inputs, converting uncompressed 2-channel LPCM or PCM signals to analog stereo on both RCA and 3.5 mm outputs; 5.1-channel audio is not supported.

What are the physical dimensions and weight of the unit?

The full-metal housing measures 75 x 55 x 22 mm and weighs 90 g.

How is the converter powered, and what is a common setup mistake?

It requires a 5 V / 1 A supply via the included 5.5 mm USB power cable; the power adapter is not included, and using a non-5 V source or skipping power entirely will prevent operation.
