HDMI to DVI converter with audio extraction

This device converts an HDMI source into a DVI video signal while separating the audio stream. It accepts input from a PC, Apple TV, Blu-Ray player, PS4, set-top box or network box. The video output connects to displays with a DVI interface such as a TV, monitor or projector. Audio is provided through both an optical SPDIF port and a 3.5 mm stereo jack.

Optical SPDIF and 3.5 mm outputs

The converter extracts digital audio to the optical Toslink port and analogue audio to the 3.5 mm jack simultaneously. Supported audio formats include DTS, AC3, LPCM and PCM in 2.0 channel or 5.1 channel configurations. This allows connection to an AV receiver, soundbar or powered speakers without relying on the display's audio capabilities.

Check HDMI source and DVI display compatibility

Verify that your source device outputs a resolution and refresh rate the converter can handle, up to 1080p at 60 Hz. Ensure the target display has a DVI-D input and supports the same resolution. The unit measures 80 by 84 by 28 mm and weighs 200 g, so confirm adequate space and cable reach in your setup.

Questions about this item

Will the gold-plated HDMI connector or the DVI-D port need periodic replacement?

The converter uses solid-state signal conversion with no moving contacts, so the gold-plated HDMI input and DVI-D output do not wear out under normal use.

What resolution or refresh-rate ceiling appears first during continuous operation?

The unit is specified for 1080p at 60 Hz, so that resolution and refresh-rate combination is the hard limit for sustained use.

How much heat or fan noise does the 200 g enclosure produce when powered all day?

The lightweight 200 g case has no fan and draws minimal power, so it runs silently and stays only slightly warm during extended operation.
