3-Computer 2-Monitor DP Switch

This DisplayPort KVM switch lets you control three computers from one keyboard, mouse and dual-monitor setup. It accepts three DP 1.4 inputs and drives two DP outputs at up to 8K@30Hz or 4K@144Hz. Four integrated USB 3.0 ports share peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers or scanners across all connected systems. A wired remote and front push buttons both provide instant PC selection.

Thermals, Noise and Power Draw

The unit draws power from an included 12 V adapter, eliminating any load on the host computers’ USB ports. Its metal shell acts as a passive heatsink, so the switch runs silently with no fan noise during normal operation. Power consumption stays low because only signal switching and USB hub logic are active. No thermal throttling or audible noise occurs in typical desktop use.

Build Integration and Requirements

Each computer needs two DisplayPort cables and one USB 3.0 cable to connect, all supplied in the box. The switch supports USB-C to DP converters and USB-C docking stations for broader laptop compatibility. Two switching modes — copy and extend — let you mirror the primary display or span a desktop across both monitors. Hotkey switching is not supported, so control relies on the buttons or remote.

Questions about this item

How do I connect three computers and two monitors to this KVM302DP switch?

Connect each computer using two DisplayPort 1.4 cables and one USB 3.0 cable to the corresponding input ports; then connect your two monitors to the OUT A and OUT B DisplayPort outputs. Plug in the included 12V power adapter before switching.

What ongoing maintenance will the KVM302DP require?

The unit has no user-serviceable parts or filters. Keep the metal shell vents clear of dust and ensure the 12V power adapter remains firmly seated; the four USB 3.0 ports and wired remote need no scheduled service.

What is the first limit I will hit when running both monitors at high refresh rates for long periods?

The DisplayPort 1.4 link caps total bandwidth at 8K@30Hz or 4K@144Hz per output; pushing both ports to 4K@144Hz simultaneously will saturate the switch’s video path before thermal limits become an issue.
