8K HDMI bi-directional switch

The WRIARICH OZ8AB is an 8K HDMI 2.1 bi-directional switch that operates as a 2-in-1-out selector or a 1-in-2-out splitter. It suits users who need to route one 8K source between two displays or alternate between two sources on a single screen. It is not for buyers who require simultaneous output on both displays or automatic source detection.

48 Gbps bandwidth and manual switching

The switch handles 48 Gbps bandwidth and supports resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz with Dynamic HDR, VRR and full chroma sampling. Switching is manual only and may take 3 to 6 seconds for high-power devices. HDMI 2.1 cables no longer than 3 metres are recommended for 8K and 4K 120 Hz signals. The unit requires the supplied 5 V DC power adapter.

Two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output

The physical interface provides two HDMI input ports and one HDMI output port in switch mode, or one input and two outputs in splitter mode. Both outputs cannot display simultaneously. The compact black enclosure measures 5.91 x 2.36 x 0.79 inches and weighs 11.9 ounces. A 5 V power cable and user manual are included.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2-in-1-out or 1-in-2-out mode for my setup?

Choose 2-in-1-out to toggle between two sources on one display, or 1-in-2-out to send one source to either of two screens — only one output is active at a time.

What does the 48Gbps bandwidth deliver on a real TV or monitor?

It carries 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz with Dynamic HDR, VRR and full 4:4:4 chroma, provided you use certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cables no longer than 3 metres.

How does the HDMI 2.1 interface limit cable length in practice?

The 48Gbps spec requires Ultra High Speed HDMI cables; the manufacturer advises keeping runs under 3 metres for reliable 8K60 or 4K120 operation.
