RCA to HDMI Converter for Legacy Devices

The WRIARICH adapter converts composite video and stereo audio from devices such as a PS3, DVD player or older set-top box to a single HDMI signal. It accepts yellow, white and red RCA plugs and outputs 1080p or 720p at 60 Hz. A USB cable supplies power to the unit.

Signal Direction and Resolution Limits

The converter only works from an RCA source to an HDMI display; it cannot send an HDMI signal to a composite input. Output is limited to 1080p or 720p at 60 Hz, so 4K or higher refresh-rate displays will not receive their native resolution. NTSC and PAL standards including PAL/M and PAL/N are supported.

USB Power Requirement

The adapter requires an external USB power source to operate; it draws power through the included USB cable and has no internal battery. If the display or a nearby USB charger cannot supply 5 V, the unit will not function.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 720p or 1080p output setting for my display?

Choose 1080p/60Hz if your TV or monitor accepts it; otherwise fall back to 720p/60Hz — both are supported by the converter.

Will the picture really look like 1080p on a modern TV?

The adapter upscales composite sources to 1080p/60Hz or 720p/60Hz, so the output resolution matches the setting but detail is limited by the original CVBS signal.

Does the HDMI port limit me to a specific HDMI version or bandwidth?

The unit provides a standard HDMI output fixed at 1080p/60Hz or 720p/60Hz; no higher resolutions or refresh rates are supported.
