USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 cable pack

This two-pack supplies 1.6 ft male-to-male USB-C cables rated for USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 data transfer and 100 W Power Delivery. They serve laptop owners, tablet users and portable-SSD owners who need a short, high-speed link for charging and moving large files.

Practical limits of USB 3.2 Gen 2x2

The 20 Gbps ceiling only applies when both host and device support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2; older USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 1 ports will drop to 5 or 10 Gbps. Video output requires the host port to implement DisplayPort Alternate Mode, otherwise the 4K 60 Hz capability cannot be used. Thunderbolt 3 or 4 hosts will negotiate the same 20 Gbps rate.

E-Marker chip for 100 W PD

A built-in E-Marker chip identifies the cable to the power source, enabling the full 5 A at 20 V profile for 100 W charging. Without this chip the USB-C negotiation would fall back to a lower power level, so the E-Marker is the single spec that decides whether the cable can deliver its maximum rated charge.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1.6FT two-pack or is there a longer single cable available?

The listing only offers the 1.6FT length in a two-pack; no other lengths or pack sizes are shown for this model.

What does the 20Gbps rating actually deliver when I plug the cable into my laptop and SSD?

It provides up to 20Gbps data transfer over USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, so large files move at the full speed the host and drive can sustain.

How does the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface limit video output on a 4K 60Hz monitor?

The cable carries DisplayPort Alternate Mode over USB-C, capping video at 3840x2160 at 60Hz with HDR 10-bit colour.
