Extends 4K HDMI, USB 2.0 and audio up to 100 m over Cat5e/6 with PoE power and four USB ports
The WUQ KVM extender transmits 4K video at 30Hz and 1080p at 60Hz over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 100 metres. Four USB 2.0 ports on the receiver connect keyboards, mice, cameras and headsets. PoE support under the 802.3AF standard lets the unit draw power from a compatible switch, removing the need for a local power adapter at the remote end.
End-to-end latency stays below 50 ms, keeping keyboard and mouse response tight for interactive tasks. The extender passes HDMI audio in raw formats including 2-channel, 5.1, 7.1, DTS and Dolby, plus a separate 3.5 mm analogue audio path for speakers or microphones. No compression artefacts are introduced, preserving image quality for medical imaging or digital signage.
The compact transmitter and receiver each measure 4.72 by 3.15 by 0.79 inches and use plug-in mounting, so they fit on a desk or behind a display without brackets. A Gigabit PoE switch is recommended to supply both units reliably. The link tops out at 4K 30Hz, so workflows needing 4K 60Hz or higher refresh rates will require a different solution.

Connect the transmitter to the source via HDMI and USB, link both units with a Cat5e/6 cable up to 100 m, power the transmitter using an 802.3AF PoE switch, then plug peripherals into the receiver's four USB 2.0 ports; the step often missed is using a Gigabit PoE switch to ensure stable power delivery.
The unit has no user-serviceable parts; maintenance is limited to checking Cat5e/6 cable integrity and PoE switch health, while the 3.5 mm audio jack and four USB 2.0 ports may wear after repeated insertions and require cable or hub replacement.
The primary limit is the 4K@30 Hz video ceiling combined with sub-50 ms latency; pushing higher resolutions or refresh rates such as 1080p@60 Hz is supported, but 4K cannot exceed 30 Hz, and USB 2.0 bandwidth caps peripheral throughput.
