3.5 mm TRS Y Splitter for Audio Sharing

This 8.5 inch gold-plated adapter splits one 3.5 mm auxiliary port into two female TRS sockets so two headphones or speakers can listen to the same source. It suits travellers, commuters and anyone wanting to share music, movies or games from a phone, tablet or laptop without carrying a bulky hub.

TRS Limits: Stereo Output Only

The splitter passes analog stereo audio through oxygen-free copper conductors with individual PVC insulation and a braided OFC shield. Both female ports are output-only, so microphones, inline remotes or headset chat functions will not work. The 3.5 mm TRS interface itself cannot carry surround sound, digital signals or power for active noise-cancelling headphones.

Upgrade from Cheap Unshielded Splitters

The gold-plated copper connectors, step-down plug design and dual-layer PVC plus fishing-line-fibre jacket replace flimsy plastic splitters that crackle or break after a few weeks. The jump is worth it when you need reliable daily use in a bag or pocket and want corrosion-resistant contacts that stay clean over years of plugging and unplugging.

Questions about this item

What length should I choose for a portable headphone splitter?

The 8.5 inch cable keeps the adapter compact and light for travel while still giving enough slack to reach two listeners comfortably.

How does the gold-plated connector affect sound quality in daily use?

The 24K gold plating on solid copper resists oxidation and corrosion, so the signal stays clean and the audio remains clear and crisp over time.

What does the TRS 3.5mm interface limit me to when sharing audio?

The TRS male plug carries stereo output only, so both female ports deliver the same left and right channels to two headphones or speakers with no microphone support.
