Desk phone with 16 SIP accounts

The Yealink SIP-T46U is a corded VoIP telephone built for office desks or wall mounting. It supports up to 16 SIP accounts and handles 10-way audio conferencing. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and Power over Ethernet class 3 simplify cabling. Two USB 2.0 ports accept headsets or optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongles.

Power draw between 1.2 W and 3.8 W

With the optional external adapter the phone draws 1.2 to 3.0 W, while PoE operation uses 1.6 to 3.8 W. The 4.3 inch 480 by 272 pixel colour display has a backlight and 16-bit colour depth. Dual-colour LEDs show line status and a separate LED signals calls and messages, all without active cooling.

Wall-mountable chassis with dual Gigabit ports

The handset and headset each connect through dedicated RJ9 ports, leaving the USB ports free for peripherals or the WF40, WF50, BT40, BT41 and BT52 adapters. An optional AC adapter supplies 5 V at 2 A and the USB ports can deliver 5 V at 1 A for charging. The footprint measures 244 by 213 mm with a 54 mm depth when tilted.

Questions about this item

How do I power the SIP-T46U using the dual-port Gigabit Ethernet and PoE without the optional AC adapter?

Connect the network cable to the LAN port; the phone draws 1.6-3.8 W via IEEE 802.3af class 3 PoE. The second Gigabit port passes the link to a PC. No external adapter is required when PoE is available.

Which replaceable parts on the SIP-T46U wear out first and where do I find them?

The coiled handset cord and the RJ9 headset cable are the main consumables; both use standard 4P4C plugs. The USB 2.0 ports accept wired or wireless headsets via BT40/BT41/BT52 dongles, reducing wear on the RJ9 jack.

At what point does the SIP-T46U hit its account limit during daily operation?

The phone supports 16 SIP accounts simultaneously. Once all 16 are registered, additional accounts cannot be added until one is removed or disabled in the web interface.
