Yealink WF50 USB Wi-Fi dongle

The Yealink WF50 is a dual-band USB Wi-Fi dongle built for Yealink IP phones. It adds wireless connectivity to compatible desk phones without cabling. The device supports IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards and uses WPA/WPA2 encryption for network security. Setup is plug-and-play via the USB host interface.

Suits offices adding Wi-Fi to Yealink IP phones

This dongle suits IT teams deploying Yealink IP phones where Ethernet runs are impractical. It serves users who need 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band selection to avoid local interference. Buyers whose phones lack a USB host port or who require wired-only deployment cannot use this adapter. It is not intended for PCs, laptops or non-Yealink hardware.

Dual-band 2.4 GHz 150 Mbps and 5 GHz 433 Mbps rates

The single specification that decides fit is the supported link rates: 150 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 433 Mbps on 5 GHz under the 802.11ac standard. These rates determine whether the dongle can sustain HD voice and video streams in your environment. Verify that your Wi-Fi infrastructure operates on these bands and that the target Yealink phone lists USB WF50 support before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I use the 2.4 GHz band at 150 Mbps or the 5 GHz band at 433 Mbps with this WF50 dongle?

Choose 5 GHz for less interference and higher throughput when the phone is near the access point; use 2.4 GHz for longer range through walls.

What does the 433 Mbps figure mean for call quality on a Yealink IP phone?

It is the maximum physical-layer rate on 5 GHz; real-world throughput will be lower but still ample for HD voice and video streams.

Which Wi-Fi standard does the WF50 use and what speed does it cap at?

It uses IEEE 802.11ac on 5 GHz, capping the link rate at 433 Mbps.
