Questions about this item

Will this 240W PSU fit the OptiPlex 3040 I already own?

The D240EPM-00 is listed for the OptiPlex 3040, 3046, 3650, 5040, 7040 and T3420, so it matches your 3040 chassis and connector layout.

How do I confirm the 8-pin and 4-pin rails are delivering power after installation?

Power on the system; if the OptiPlex posts and runs without shutdowns, the 8P+4P connectors are seated and the 240W unit is operating correctly.
