Purpose and fit

This 255W server power supply is built as a direct replacement for Dell 3020, 7020, 9020 and T7100 systems. It suits IT teams or home-lab owners who need to restore power to those specific chassis without modification.

Connector and compatibility

The unit provides a 4Pin plus 8Pin output interface and matches part numbers L255AS-00, D255AS-00, H255AS-00, H255ES-01, F255ES-00 and HU255AS-00. Buyers whose boards require a different pin layout or proprietary keying cannot use this supply.

Capacity and limits

Rated at 255W with a 100-240V 50/60Hz input range, it handles the original workload of the listed Dell models. Systems upgraded with additional drives, high-power CPUs or discrete graphics cards that push draw beyond 255W will exceed its headroom.

Questions about this item

Will the 255 W rating actually run a Dell 3020 with a discrete graphics card?

The unit delivers up to 255 W total; whether that covers a specific graphics card depends on the card's own power draw and the rest of the system load.

What does the 4Pin + 8Pin connector layout limit in a Dell 7020?

It supplies the standard motherboard 4-pin CPU and 8-pin EPS power; any component needing extra PCIe power cables would require a different supply.

Will the 240 mm length fit inside a Dell 9020 tower case?

At roughly 240 mm long it matches the original L255AS-00 form factor used in the 9020 tower, so it should mount without modification.
