Two-PC 10 Gbps Direct Link

This kit bundles two Mellanox ConnectX-2 network cards and a 1 metre SFP cable to create a 10 Gbps point-to-point connection. Each card plugs into a PCIe x8 slot and requires no separate switch. The package measures roughly 20 by 11 by 3 centimetres and weighs very little.

Suits paired servers or workstations

Builders linking two servers, a server and a workstation, or two desktop PCs directly will use the full 10 Gbps path. Buyers who need more than two endpoints, longer cable runs, or integration into an existing switched network should consider other solutions.

Dual cards plus one cable

Two MNPA19-XTR cards arrive ready to install, eliminating the need to source matching adapters separately. The included 1 metre SFP cable guarantees a tested 10 Gbps link without extra procurement. No software discs or licences are mentioned in the bundle.

Questions about this item

What PCIe slot size does each ConnectX-2 card require?

Each card uses a PCIe x8 connector, so the host must provide an x8 or wider slot for both cards.

Can the 1 m SFP cable link the ConnectX-2 card to a legacy 1 Gbps SFP port?

The cable is rated for 10 Gbps; it will not negotiate down to 1 Gbps with an older SFP port.

How can I verify the 10 Gbps link is active after installing both cards?

Check the OS network adapter status — it should report a 10 Gbps link speed on each ConnectX-2 port.
