Connects an RS232 serial port to an RJ45 network cable for signal extension up to 100FT without external power
This adapter connects a DB9 RS232 serial port to an RJ45 jack so signals can travel over standard CAT5 or CAT6 cable. It is aimed at installers and technicians who need to extend legacy COM-port equipment across longer runs without installing new serial cabling.
The converter carries RS232 signals up to 100 feet using ordinary network cable instead of a dedicated serial link. No external power supply is required, so the link draws nothing beyond what the host port provides.
Because the unit is entirely passive it generates no heat and adds no audible noise to the installation. Power draw is effectively zero, leaving the host device’s serial port to supply only the normal signalling current.

The unit is completely passive and requires no external power, so it produces no heat and makes no noise even when running all day.
You need a standard DB9 RS-232 male cable for the device side and a CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 patch cable with RJ45 plugs for the 100 ft link.
Yes, it is designed to extend native RS-232 signals over twisted-pair cable, so older 232-level gear connects without any protocol translation.
