HDMI to AV Converter KVM Switch

This KVM switch converts an HDMI source to composite AV output for legacy displays. It suits users connecting modern laptops, consoles or streaming boxes to older televisions or capture equipment. The unit is new and requires no driver installation. It is not designed for bi-directional signal flow or for upscaling analogue sources to HDMI.

Single-direction HDMI-to-AV conversion

The device accepts one HDMI input and delivers one RCA composite output with stereo audio. Supported input resolutions include 1920x1080 at 60Hz down to 640x480 at 60Hz. Output follows NTSC and PAL television standards. HDCP 1.3 compatibility is stated for the HDMI interface.

Passive low-power operation

No external power adapter is needed; the converter draws minimal power from the HDMI source. The compact enclosure measures 66 by 55 by 20 millimetres and weighs roughly 60 grams. Silent operation is inherent with no fan or moving parts.

Questions about this item

What resolutions does the 1080p HDMI input actually support on this converter?

The HDMI input accepts 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x1024, 1360x768, 1600x1200 and 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, plus 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p and 720p at 50 or 60 Hz.

Which HDMI standard limits the video bandwidth on this unit?

The converter is compatible with HD 1.3, which caps the maximum input to 1080p at 60 Hz and prevents higher refresh rates or 4K signals from passing through.

How much space do the 66 by 55 by 20 mm dimensions leave for cable routing?

The compact 66 mm length, 55 mm width and 20 mm height allow the converter to sit behind a monitor or TV with minimal protrusion, keeping HDMI and RCA cables close to the panel.
