Questions about this item

Will the GPU power cable for PowerEdge R740 and R640 need periodic replacement due to wear?

The cable is a passive assembly with no moving parts; under normal server use it does not require scheduled replacement.

What is the first limit reached when the GPU power cable runs continuously at full load?

The conductor temperature rating is the limiting factor; sustained full-load current will hit the cable's thermal ceiling before any other constraint.
