Extends VGA video up to 20 metres over CAT5 or CAT6 cable for PC, laptop or projector connections
The YINGHUA VGA extender carries an analogue VGA signal over a standard CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cable for runs up to 20 metres. It has a male VGA plug on the source side and a female VGA socket on the display side so a PC, laptop, DVR or game console can drive a distant monitor, projector or HDTV.
The adapter needs a separate CAT5 or CAT6 patch cable between the two ends; the cable is not supplied. Using shielded CAT6 gives the cleanest picture, especially near power lines or fluorescent lighting where the maker suggests keeping at least .3 metre of separation. The unit adds no extra power supply and draws power from the VGA port itself.
It replaces a long, bulky VGA cable that would be impractical beyond a few metres. The jump is worth it when the display must sit 12 to 66 feet from the source and running a thick VGA lead is difficult. It will not help if the source or display lacks a VGA port, or if a digital HDMI or DisplayPort link is required.

The extender transmits VGA signals up to 20 meters (66 ft) over CAT5 or CAT6 ethernet cable, with picture quality depending on cable length and resolution used.
No external power supply is mentioned; the adapter draws power from the VGA port and operates passively without active cooling or reported heat issues.
You need a standard VGA cable for the PC side, a CAT5e or CAT6 ethernet cable (up to 20 m) for the link, and another VGA cable from the receiver to the projector.
