VGA over CAT5/CAT6 to 20 m

This VGA male-to-female extender sends analogue video up to 20 metres over a single CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cable. It suits installers who need to bridge a PC, laptop, DVR or games console to a projector or HDTV without running a bulky VGA lead.

Plug-and-play with cable choice

Connect the male end to the source, the female end to the display, and link them with your own Ethernet cable. Picture quality varies with cable length and resolution; the supplier recommends shielded CAT5 or CAT6 and keeping the run at least .3 metre from power lines or fluorescent fixtures.

Check source and display ports first

Verify that both devices offer a standard VGA connector; the unit provides only one female port and carries video alone. Audio, USB or HDMI signals are not supported, so buyers needing those paths must look elsewhere.
