Dual-CPU E-ATX server board

This YINGHUA X79 4D motherboard accepts two processors in LGA 2011 sockets and supports DDR3 memory at 1333, 1600 and 1866 MHz up to 128 GB. It provides PCI-E expansion, SATA3 storage connectors and USB 3.0 ports in an E-ATX layout built for multi-threaded server workloads.

Upgrading from single-socket platforms

Moving to this dual-socket design doubles the available CPU cores and memory channels for parallel tasks such as virtualization or rendering. The jump is worthwhile when a single processor no longer delivers enough threads or memory capacity and the chassis can accommodate an E-ATX form factor.

Questions about this item

What case size does the E-ATX YINGHUA X79 4D motherboard require?

The board follows the E-ATX form factor, so it needs a chassis that explicitly supports E-ATX dimensions and matching mounting holes.

How are the two LGA 2011 processors installed, and what step is often missed?

Install each CPU into its LGA 2011 socket, then apply thermal paste and attach a cooler to both sockets; skipping the second cooler causes immediate overheating.
