X79 LGA 2011 Kit with Xeon E5 2650 V2

This kit combines an X79 motherboard, a Xeon E5 2650 V2 processor and 16 gigabytes of DDR3 ECC memory in a matched LGA 2011 package. It is aimed at builders assembling a cost-effective server or workstation platform using validated components.

NVME M.2 slot on X79 chipset

The board includes an M.2 slot labelled for NVME use, though the X79 chipset itself lacks native PCIe lanes for such drives. Builders who need guaranteed NVME boot support or multiple high-speed storage devices should verify the lane allocation before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the kit with the Xeon E5 2650 V2 and 16G DDR3 ECC or look for a different capacity?

This kit includes a matched Xeon E5 2650 V2 processor and 16G of DDR3 ECC memory in an 8G*2 configuration, so no separate capacity choice is needed.

What does the X79 chipset and NVME support actually deliver in a working server?

The X79 platform pairs the LGA 2011 Xeon with DDR3 ECC memory and provides an M.2 slot for NVME storage, giving a complete server foundation in one kit.
